Civil & Commercial
We limit our litigation practice to representing our business and corporate clients. We do not handle non-business or non-commercial litigation in order to best utilize our resources for our business and corporate clients.
Our seasoned litigators regularly represent our business and corporation clients in civil and commercial litigation matters. Our clients require or expect us to provide them with excellent business and commercial litigation services. Our ability to litigate also makes us better business and corporate attorneys.
We litigate in state and federal courts as well as in agency and arbitration proceedings. We have litigated before judges and juries and, whenever called upon by our clients, will ethically and aggressively pursue litigation to protect the interests of our clients.
Our lawyers have represented some of the largest US companies in litigation matters and bring a wealth of experience, instinct and expertise in representing business and corporate clients.
As lawyers who understand the businesses and corporations, we also understand that litigation is not always the best way to resolve disputes. And, whenever it is to our clients' advantage, we will not hesitate to engage in alternative dispute resolution methods.
Corporate litigation involves disputes surrounding the interests of shareholders and owner, the duties and responsibilities of the boards of directors, misappropriation of corporate funds, wrongful discharges of executives, assessments of fines and penalties by governmental and regulatory agencies and more.
The ability to effectively provide corporate litigation is critical to our business and corporate clients. Generally, we represent our business and corporate clients in defensive postures.
Corporate litigation requires an in-depth knowledge of the corporate issues and governance, as well as the practical experiences and insight into how the businesses and corporations work. And, we have such knowledge, experience and insight.
Corporate litigation includes litigation arising out of or in connection with limited liability companies, limited and general partnerships and other legal entities.
Corporate litigation can be quite financially draining for anyone. Therefore, we practice in order to forestall and prevent such litigation.
Today, the intellectual properties, such as patents, trademarks and copyrights, are an integral part of the asset portfolio of and business strategy for our business and corporate clients. We do not provide direct IP litigation services. We work with other highly rated IP law firms in IP litigation matters.
In the past, physical assets were the primary assets of the businesses and corporations. This is no longer true. The largest global businesses and corporations are built on intellectual property rights.
This is also true of small and medium size businesses and corporations. In fact, the primary protection of their business from other competitors or predators is often their intellectual property rights.
Our clients desire us to be involved in critical IP litigation as their eyes and ears, supervising the litigation work of other IP law firms. Because we often act as General Counsel for our clients, it makes sense for us to do so, particularly since we are otherwise experienced and skilled in civil and commercial litigation.
